Ten nations, including Ukraine and nine European countries, have agreed to establish a new integrated anti-ballistic missile defense coalition. The participating nations are Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Their joint statement declared that the coalition's goal is to build a shared ballistic missile defense capability for Europe, responding to what leaders described as a growing threat posed by ballistic missiles from adversarial states.

The coalition is intended to complement existing national and European missile defense systems already in service or scheduled for deployment. Leaders emphasized that the initiative would develop purely defensive anti-ballistic capabilities, rejecting any offensive interpretation of the alliance. They stated their belief that protecting Europe requires a global, integrated missile defense architecture capable of deterring and defeating future missile threats, signaling a significant step toward unified continental defense planning.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that a multinational force being planned for Ukraine would conduct military exercises in neighboring countries in the coming months. Speaking after a meeting of Ukraine's allies in Paris, Macron said the drills are designed to validate deployment plans and demonstrate credibility and readiness. Crucially, he clarified that the force would only be fully deployed if a ceasefire agreement is reached between Ukraine and Russia.

Russian authorities summoned Germany's ambassador to Moscow, Alexander Graf Lambsdorff, to protest Berlin's growing military and technical support for Ukraine. Russia's Foreign Ministry accused Germany of helping to create capabilities allegedly being used to strike civilian targets inside Russia. Germany's Foreign Office firmly rejected the allegations, calling the summons completely baseless. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the Paris talks, saying they could open significantly greater opportunities for Ukraine's defense. Zelenskyy identified anti-ballistic defense as Ukraine's top priority and indicated that Ukraine would present its Anti-Ballistic Program to partners for the first time at a high-level meeting involving national security advisors and defense industry representatives. The developments suggest deepening coordination between Kyiv and its European allies on advanced defense technology.

Upcoming Pokémon titles, Winds and Waves, are reported to feature open-world exploration across tropical islands, underwater environments, and open skies. While the premise sounds thrilling given modern hardware capabilities, fans have been concerned that the games might retain the franchise's traditional turn-based battle system. However, credible Pokémon leakers are now fueling speculation that the battle mechanics in these new titles may undergo a significant and dynamic transformation.

According to leak aggregator Centro Leaks, battles in Winds and Waves will remain turn-based at their core but with a notable twist: opposing Pokémon can join or leave the battle at any point during a fight. This fluid enemy system draws comparisons to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, in which enemies roam the overworld and engage players dynamically. Rather than facing a fixed set of opponents, players would need to adapt constantly as the composition of the opposing side shifts unpredictably.

This proposed battle system could serve as a middle ground between traditional turn-based combat and the more action-oriented gameplay introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. In that title, players could move, attack, and defend in real time, and monsters could be caught without entering a formal battle. That game was widely praised as a breath of fresh air for the franchise. The new system in Winds and Waves may attempt to capture that sense of dynamic engagement while retaining the structured turn-based framework fans are familiar with.

Centro Leaks had previously described the battle system as largely based on Pokémon Legends: Arceus, featuring free roaming and multiple targets, but now incorporating area-of-effect attacks similar to those in Legends: Z-A. The leaker also cautioned that game development plans can change significantly before release, noting that early leaks for Legends: Z-A teased MMO social features and third-person action battles that were ultimately scaled back in the final product. Winds and Waves reportedly has the longest development cycle of any Pokémon title.

Questions remain about the reliability of these leaks. While insider information is inherently difficult to verify, Game Freak suffered a significant data breach several years ago, and files from that trove reportedly contained early development assets for Winds and Waves, including character models, maps, concept art, and water physics. These corroborating details lend some credibility to the claims. Ultimately, whether the dynamic battle system makes it into the final release remains to be seen, but anticipation among fans continues to build.
