Privacy Policy (UgoKaki)
The operator of "UgoKaki" (hereinafter "the App") handles information collected during use of the App, its use, and any disclosure to third parties in accordance with the policies below.
Last updated: 2026-04-25
1. Information we may access
The App may access the following information from you:
* Images captured with the camera (to import your child's drawings for animation and picture books; explicit camera permission dialog).
* Images from the photo library (same purpose, via PhotosPicker).
* Audio recorded with the microphone (to add narration to animations and picture books; explicit microphone permission dialog).
* Text you enter (character names, story plots, etc., via in-app forms).
* AI service API keys (for connecting to the AI service you choose; entered manually by an adult in Settings).
* Apple Sign-In user identifier (optional, only if you use community features), display name, and your child's birth year, country, and gender (optional, entered in the profile screen).
The App does NOT collect your phone number, location, contacts, or browsing history. Email is not collected unless you sign in with Apple.
2. Use of information (on-device processing by default)
Images, audio, and text you provide are processed only on your iPhone by default. They are never sent to our servers.
3. Exception when using AI features
Only when you use the "Create story with AI" feature, the following information is sent to the AI service you have selected (one of Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or Google Gemini):
Sent: character names you entered (text), target age, story tone, and plot summary you entered (text).
Not sent: your child's drawings, photos, audio recordings, or any of your information other than the API key.
AI transmission requires explicit consent (checkbox) by an adult on first use. Without consent, this feature cannot be used.
The API key is obtained and contracted directly by you with the AI service provider; the App operator does not retain or view your API key. The key is stored encrypted in your iPhone's Keychain and used only for HTTPS communication with the AI service.
For how AI service providers handle your data, please refer to each provider's privacy policy (Anthropic / OpenAI / Google).
4. Disclosure to third parties
The App operator does not sell or disclose your information to third parties. Except for the "AI feature exception" above, no external transmission occurs.
5. Retention and deletion
Drawings, picture books, and audio data stored on your device can be deleted at any time within the App, or by uninstalling the App.
API keys can be removed individually from Settings → AI Connection.
6. Account deletion
If you have created an account, you can completely delete it from within the App at any time. No website visit, email, or phone call is required.
Steps: Open the App → tap the Settings tab → tap your profile card → tap the Delete Account button at the bottom of the screen → confirm by selecting Delete in the dialog.
What is deleted: the account record stored on the kotomori backend (Apple Sign-In linkage, display name, child profile, community posts), the profile data stored on your device, and your local session.
Deletion is performed immediately and cannot be reversed. Any community content you posted is removed at the same time.
If you have not created an account (i.e., you have not used Apple Sign-In), simply uninstalling the App removes all data from your device.
7. Use by children
The App is not designed to be operated by a child alone. Operations involving photography or data transmission must be performed by a parent or guardian.
8. Contact
For inquiries about this Policy, please contact us via the support contact on the App Store.
9. Revisions
This Policy may be revised in response to legal changes or service updates. We will announce significant changes within the App or in the App Store description.
